The 2021 Columbus Skyline Poster Calendar has arrived. Calendars are available for purchase at Haus Frau Haven 769 South Third St in German Village. Part of the proceeds go to the German Village Society. Calendars are selling for $9.

One thing we all have in common is the presence of the deadly Corona Virus. In March I began a series of paintings that depict the virus in a variety of situations. A trapper seeks out and gathers the virus in hope that a cure may be found. Pathways undulate laden with red viral specs. Interior spaces are not safe. We must tread carefully. Over 10 plus years, everyday I have been posting only my own images on Facebook and Twitter. Some days more than one image. The work ranges from drawings, paintings, photographs, 3D graphics and photilation™(a word I coined in 1990 to describe the blending of photography and illustration on the computer). The background is a photo I took of some of the highest peaks of the Himalayan mountains that never been climbed. They are in Northern Bhutan. The foreground is a plaza near a shrine and the buildings are the Tashichho Dzong Monastery in the capitol of Thimphu.
A Costa Rican rainforest with 350 species of exotic plants thrive at the Cleveland Botanical Garden on University Square. Founded in 1930, then moved to it’s present location in 1966. 10 acres of gardens surround the large green houses. The spiney desert of Madagascar is a stark contrast to the lush foliage. During the year, butterflies flutter, orchids bloom and many educational events and parties take place. If you want a break from the chill of winter, this is a wonderful place to visit.
The Miami Valley Steam Threshers Association is having their 69 Annual Reunion in Plain, City Ohio today through July 15th.
